    • Led the development of a centrally-managed Web-based system and database to evaluate and control the electric energy used by HVAC units, and lighting, at 3500 sites for a major U.S. bank.• Oversaw the creation of a browser-based application targeting smart phones, capable of also working offline, for a commercial building maintenance organization to help the organization improve client support with better service call information. • Accomplished the completion of a smart phone, browser-based application utilizing HTML5 local storage to be used by field technicians to analyze the performance of HVAC systems.• Managed the development of a Web-based administration system for technicians servicing air conditioners.• Coordinated the design, development and manufacture of hardware for a real-time HVAC monitoring system. The most recent handheld applications for smart phones were browser-based, built using Java and JavaScript, and in one case HTML5 local storage. Web projects used ColdFusion and Flash for one Web interface, Java with Web services for a second Web interface, and Web2Py for a third interface, in all cases communicating with a Microsoft SQL Server database.

Under a Phase I SBIR contract from the National Cancer Institute, I led the development of the user interface for a handheld pen computer to access cancer databases via local area wireless between the pen computer and a network host. • For the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center in New Jersey, I managed the creation of an expert-system (Nexpert) application on Sun workstations, led the development of a system to digitize aperture cards using image enhancement, and studied the feasibility of upgrading a real-time (30 frames per second) 3D graphics subsystem used in military tank simulators.

    • Led the effort to develop a new product – a software package for easily scripting audiotex applications, written in C for a Unix machine – and assisted in the business planning, marketing and sales efforts for the system. • Directed the creation of prototype systems for automated operator assistance within the telephone industry.• Managed the conversion of retrieval software from MACRO 11 to C on a DEC MicroVAX, and supervised ongoing support for the Information Line, a joint venture with United Telecommunications. • In a previous position as director of operations and planning for the Voltex group, I assisted in the creation of a videotex kiosk, managed a production staff creating videotex applications, and researched various information technology topics.
