Delivered Reporting Capabilities across the Project for a wide range of client customers and stakeholders as part of the Performance Information and Analysis team. Working for 6 months as an embedded analyst in the Equipment Programme and 9 months in the Central Reporting Team, I used technical capabilities to deliver both systems and process improvements to customers and stakeholders. Whilst in the Equipment Programme I mainly reported on the Cost and Earned Value element of project controls, working closely with cost engineers to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting. Aiming towards a proactive rather than reactive way of working I developed solutions using PowerBI, Excel, PowerAutomate, Sharepoint and PowerApps. As part of the Central Reporting Team I extended these efforts beyond EVM and Cost and worked with a wide array of teams,programmes and functions across the HPC project. Working across the Office 365 suite, especially PowerPlatform, the solutions that I delivered were built with automation and customer user experience in mind. Data sources ranged from Excel Spreadsheets, to Enterprise Grade Management Systems and were integrated in an Azure Data Lake and Data Warehouse, in order to feed into our team’s PowerBI reporting. I was responsible for end-to-end data analysis for data spanning the whole project lifecycle.

Worked as a Data Analyst and Digital Solutions Developer as part of Heathrow’s PMO digitisation. This was arranged as an interim short term contract prior to my commencing at Hinkley Point C.I created Power BI and PowerApps integrated solutions to enable one-stop shop solutionising of Project Controls issues facing teams at HAL. From PowerAutomate-driven swimlane reports which automatically notified PMs of upcoming governance deadlines, to rapid refresh PowerBI visualisation of PowerApps input data, my time at HAL was a great first exposure to the world of digital integrated project controls.

Worked remotely as a freelance private tutor, teaching Chemistry and Mathematics up to A-Level standard and Physics up to degree-level standard. With over 250 hours of tutoring completed and more than 35 students in total, I have received 5* ratings and wonderful reviews from each of my students. Worked on PC and Android systems, using in-house software to carry out experiments on various prototypes. I have many proud personal achievements from my time at SLE, for example I developed a novel night-mode headtracking 3D display system by removing an infra-red cut filter, incorporating an IR LED and modifying Sharp's artificial intelligence tracking software. I was also responsible for the design of an externally-manufactured hands-free display mount, which facilitated by-eye comparison of panels. My design proved successful and the mount has been incorporated by Sharp, on an ongoing basis, to develop future displays. Working throughout the year on a vast parameter space, I identified the optimum parameters for Sharp’s 6.44" display, and as a direct result, Sharp Japan incorporated the display into their most recent 3D system, which is due to be taken to market. Building on my teamwork skills, and working in a flexible manner, I helped my graduate colleague, on an ad hoc basis, with his private-viewing displays project, giving technical advice where appropriate. I was the first person at SLE to test and use a newly outsourced robotic cutter to cut plastic gratings for improving light recycling in displays. As such, I carried out a risk assessment and composed an easy-to-digest guide for future users. My other contributions to the company included researching chemical design for optimising liquid-crystal composition, as well as taking part in meetings to brainstorm new technological opportunities, worth investigation. At the end of my placement, I created a comprehensive digital handover dossier for future employees, containing more than 20 of my personally-written instruction manuals, as well as technical information documents, source code and useful links. This I did on my own initiative, with the aim of improving future training efficiency, and the dossier was considered very useful by both the new team and my manager.
