In this role I helped bring together some of the best of Queensland’s start-up community to create the next generation of entrepreneurs, with a focus on international and domestic participation in a first ever state-wide Student Innovation Challenge.Under the title of Shaping Queensland’s Entrepreneurs (SQE), this project was announced by the Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment, the Hon. Curtis Pitt, as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s new $6 million IET Partnership Fund to promote Queensland’s international education and training (IET) industry. The Consortium comprises Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland, the Department of Education and Training International (DETi), Independent Schools Queensland, Little Tokyo Two, Car Advice Pty Ltd, Holden Capital Pty Ltd, Sarina Russo Group and Indooroopilly State High School.By bringing these members of the start-up community together, the SQE project develops the skills and capabilities of Queensland and International students (aged 14-21) so they can be future wealth creators and social capital innovators.
