I am Rhys, Senior technician in metallurgy and Materialographyafter completing a 4 year apprenticeship in 2017, I have worked alongside engineers to provide images and analysis of material properties of samples to support projects. while also maintaining the labs and looking for ways we are able to improve our knowledge, capability and accessabilitythe metallurgy/metallography/materialography sector is one that i feel is largely undervalued and is something of a passion of mine, stemming from a love for both engineering and science when in schoolI also have knowledge of manual machining with limited knowledge in CNC and NC machines, CMM probing and MIG welding from my apprenticeship days, these have given me a knowledge of many aspects of engineering and have made my ability to assess metallurgical samples a lot easier, as I am able to identify things in parts and give reasoning for theseI also have an interest in music, a lot of my spare time is spent playing, writing and appreciating a wide range of music. I am also a volunteer at a local scout group and have earned my gold Duke of Edinburgh award and I have achieved my Queen Scout award (the highest award in scouting)
