Due to my ASD I’ve always struggled with a good variety and nutritionally balanced diet, because of this I found that I gained a lot of weight, was unhappy with my body and lost my confidence.I started going to the gym, learning about the equipment and how it could help me. I also learnt about the right foods I should be eating and I soon noticed a big difference in my body shape, my health and fitness improved and I regained my confidence.I spent 8 weeks doing work experience at the gym, I was given the opportunity to plan my own workout sessions and take the lead in group workouts. This motivated me because I found that I really enjoyed helping others learn to love exercise, gain confidence in themselves and watch their self esteem grow.I also believe that I have the relevant business skills to be a self employed trainer as I have good communication skills. I’m friendly and approachable and as I have struggled with my weight and fitness in the past I feel that I will be able to connect with people on a personal level as well as a professional one. I can sympathise and understand how much dedication and hard work is involved in making both subtle and significant lifestyle changes. I am highly motivated, hard working and I enjoying researching, planning and putting new ideas into practice.
