After completing my Bachelor’s degree at the Sunshine coast university, I quickly gained employment at Qld. Museum after volunteering for the entomology department. There I worked hard sorting and pinning specimens from diversity studies around Queensland. I also was part of the continued field work near Culgoa NP, hand netting and re-setting malaise and pitfall traps. Since 2005 I’ve worked casually for family’s business installing wood heaters and range-hoods. I’ve also maintained a seasonal position for a long term stingless bee joint project with USC and University of Würzburg. This includes travelling to locations from Bundaberg to Brisbane opening boxed hives, sampling honey, propolis, pollen and brood comb.As for my other interests, I regularly train in traditional Karate and achieved 2nd black belt in 2011.I perform at open-mics regularly and feel I have a strong passion to communicate with groups of people whether through music or science.
