About Rhys Wright
My background is primarily in journalism. This started during my undergraduate degree when I joined SCAN, Lancaster University's student newspaper. I spent three wonderful years as a writer and editor and worked with a talented team of editors and writers. Together, we worked to reintroduce print issues of the paper post-lockdown, completely redesigned the paper, and won SCAN's first-ever Student Publication Association Award (for Highly Commended Sports Section), as well as getting shortlisted for Best National Publication and Best Newspaper Design.Since graduating with first-class honours, I've been focused on upskilling through various work experiences. I've worked as a reader for the Brick Lane Bookshop's short story prize, and currently, I'm co-writing fortnightly articles for the Publishing Post's LGBTQIA+ section.I'm looking to expand my portfolio by writing articles for even more publications. I’d also be interested in any opportunity to learn new skills and enhance my existing ones.
