With my past experience in the Network Planning team, I can now progress into a more senior role to further develop my leadership skills in supporting existing team members and on-boarding new team members. I have taken the responsibility of monitoring the augmentation CAPEX portfolio at TasNetworks and ensuring the level of investment is meeting the future requirements of the distribution network and connected customers.

My role is to identify future requirements of the distribution network in Tasmania and develop network strategies and investment plans to meet these requirements. This role involves undertaking power system analysis, consulting with retail and commercial customers and collaborating with stakeholders on the best approach that benefits both TasNetworks and the customer.

I am responsible for the delivery of all things technology for Operating Model Improvement Plan (OMIP) which is a continuous improvement project at TasNetworks. We have delivered visual dashboards to allow viability of scheduled work, completed work and outstanding defects on our network. These tools allow us to make informed decisions to help deliver our program of work.

I was asked to join the Operating Model Improvement Plan (OMIP) project as an analyst for the Service Delivery Model (SDM). This involved analysing many aspects of our fault response data to determine what our average response time to faults were, how well our field crews were being utilised and the impact that was having from a fault restoration point of view but also our incentive impacts. My role in the Asset performance team mainly revolved around the Regulatory Information Notice (RIN) submission process where I coordinated the Asset management submission. This involved data sourcing, data validation, stakeholder engagement and ensuring the deadline were met. Some other work I was involved with was developing automated reports for our Service Performance (STPIS) and working closely with our strategic engineers on improving our defect capture and management process.

Having the opportunity to spend some time with the Asset Engineering and Projects team really introduced me to the fast-pace world of engineering. I worked with project managers on developing prioritised lists of assets for replacement, developed tools to assist with this prioritisation and developed a digital model for the bypass cable initiative. During my time here I developed a strong peer network which I continue to work closely with today.
