I work as the Managing Editor for The Xylom, which is hosted and fiscally sponsored by Alternative Newsweekly Foundation.As managing editor, I manage over 20 freelancers on a regular basis, edit and fact-check all stories published by The Xylom, and work on grants, partnerships and engagement along with our Publisher and Engagement Editor. I also occasionally write stories for The Xylom.

As engagement coordinator, I represent the Climate Center at conferences and events across the country, host and participate in panels, talks and media trainings about climate communication, and work with our students and partners on various research and outreach projects in the climate space.

Freelanced long form narrative and investigative stories for publications including the Los Angeles Times and Planet Forward.I have also fact-checked pieces for award-winning magazine High Country News.

Wrote weekly news digests, short and long feature pieces and contributed to one5c's Home Energy Guide.

I worked with the Health and Justice team at CalMatters to produce California-focused stories ranging from reproductive rights and healthcare policies to environmental health. I also appeared on several radio stations like CapRadio, KPCC/LAist, KCBS and The California Report to talk about my reporting and findings.

Wrote climate stories for the Malheur Enterprise in rural southeastern Oregon. Attended and assisted with rural climate reporting training sessions for the USC Annenberg Climate Center.Won third place in the Business and Economy stories category of the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association Awards for my story on how onion farming in Treasure Valley is being affected by climate change.

I started the Earth desk, the first climate and environmental reporting desk at Annenberg Media with support from USC Annenberg Center for Climate Journalism and Communication. I recruit and train the team, and edit all the multimedia stories that get published. I am the primary writer and curator for the Earth Letter, our weekly newsletter, and AM Climate Stories, our Instagram account. I also promote and represent Annenberg Media at USC sustainability leadership events.

Worked on several different research projects in the geosciences field:Professor Julien Emile-Geay, Earth Sciences (June 2022–May 2023)I worked on reconstructing neo-paleoclimate using historical data and coral records. I am currently working on finding a relationship between droughts and wildfires in North America using paleofire charcoal and PDSI datasets. This research is funded by the WiSE Research grant. Professor David Bottjer and Amanda Godbold, Earth Sciences (June 2021–March 2022)I studied reef diversity in Norian-Rhaetian reef patches from the Gosaukamm Reef in Austria to examine biotic interactions and reef sensitivity. I also wrote a paper analyzing the mechanisms for resilience and recovery in Scleractinian corals from the end-Triassic and end-Cretaceous mass extinctions. Professor Scott Paterson, Geological Sciences (April 2019)Research assistant for a project analyzing the geochronology of the Cuesta de Randolfo shear zone in Argentina. I dated zircons through U-Pb dating at the LaserChron Lab at University of Arizona. Professor Sarah Feakins, Earth Sciences (January 2018–May 2018)Research assistant at the Leaf Wax lab. I worked on a project that used leaf waxes from marine cores in the Bay of Bengal to recreate the paleoclimate from the past two million years.

I tutored student-athletes at SAAS in English, writing, geology, chemistry, math, and astronomy. I was also a mentor tutor to some of the new tutors, conducting training sessions, giving advice and tips on best practices, and making myself available to them.

I analyzed global supply chains and markets for laminated bamboo and mycelium.

I was a member of the Data Driven Marketing Team and wrote articles on sustainability within the fashion industry.

I was a member of the Hazard and Risk Visualization (HaRVi) team. I created maps and communicated scientific data to explain possible scenarios for a potential ‘post earthquake drought’ situation in California. I used software like HAZUS, OpenSHA, ArcMap, ArcGIS, SCEC-VDO and RSQSim.
