I received a B.S. in physics from South Dakota Mines in 2021. During the completion of my undergraduate degree, I served as an undergraduate research assistant under Dr. Richard Schnee performing materials cleanliness characterization for the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) Dark Matter Experiment and Ms. Cabot-Ann Christofferson for the MAJORANA Demonstrator Experiment working on-site at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF). I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at Colorado State University, where my research is advised by Dr. Amy L. Prieto. My work focuses on investigating the coupled electrochemical and mechanical behavior alloying anode materials for next-generation battery technologies towards mitigating failure. Progress in this area is also facilitated through my ongoing graduate internship at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. I am driven by the necessity for societal electrification, particularly applications pertaining to grid-level energy storage.
