Management Consultant

Pwc

Kpi Analyst

Wakefield, England, United Kingdom

As a result of exceptional performance as a fixed term Data Analyst, I was fortunate enough to be offered a return to IPL as a KPI Analyst. I have been in this role during university holidays, hence the overlap with term time. In this role I used a variety of software, including Excel and Tableau, to visualise company data and facilitate actionable solutions to business questions. My time in this role has made me very comfortable in an office environment, and highlighted my ability to pick up new concepts and software very quickly. When offered the position I knew nothing about the Tableau software, but with help from my peers and my own dedicated learning I quickly picked up the skills needed.Throughout my time in this position I have helped visualise vital information, maintain and create company reporting dashboards and helped to create a more informed and data enabled business.

Dec 2021 - Aug 2023

Management Consultant

Leeds, England, United Kingdom

In my role at PwC, I worked within a cluster as part of a larger team to deliver impactful solutions to complex problems. I have had experience facilitating and engaging in client meetings, both in person and virtually, and have developed my communication, organisation, and presentation skills as a result. I also have experience juggling projects. I was initially assigned to an ongoing project leading a business transformation. I then used my own proactivity to join a public sector project in the bidding stage. Participating in two projects in two distinct stages and industries has proven to me that I am highly capable of effective time-management and organisation. Furthermore, the experience has developed my abilities to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as well as technical skills such as process mapping and background research. My hands-on approach to learning has meant that I have made a tangible impact on my project, helping complete key deliverables whilst gaining insight into what it means to be a consultant. My impact can be evidenced through outstanding feedback, and the fact that there was an attempt by managers and directors to keep me on the program for an extended period. As a result of my time here, I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing colleagues who have helped me develop and explore the wide range of opportunities on offer at the firm. Overall, this experience was a great introduction to consulting and showed to me that I am both ready and willing to continue down this career path.

Jul 2021 - Sep 2021

Front Of House Staff

Leeds, England, United Kingdom

In this role I greeted customers as well as took orders, served food, and made drinks. I learned to make people feel welcome and able to talk freely. In turn this allowed me to form relationships with regular customers, which led them to a more enjoyable experience, and the business to more custom. I have also expanded upon my ability to work, and prosper, under pressure. There were times when all available tables were full and there were a huge number of dishes needing to be served at any one time. I was able to handle these situations by remaining calm, but still working at a pace fast enough to satisfy the customers, and making use of the team I was working in. I was able to use my leadership skills to delegate roles, providing us with the most efficient method for getting food to different areas of the restaurant; I gave each person a section, allowing them to focus on a few tables specifically, which lessened the perceived intensity of the task and allowed us to maintain excellent quality of service, we were to then help at other sections as our own became quiet.Overall, this role has allowed me to develop many skills that are highly transferable, such as relationship building, time management, confidence and ability to work under pressure. I am confident bringing these skills into any workplace.

Warehouse Operative

Barnsley, England, United Kingdom

My duty in this position was to pack orders to be sent off to customers. My time working here showed me that I have proficient time management and attention to detail skills. I had to work to daily targets, all of which I exceeded. Furthermore, a mistake in the packing of the order would result in a loss of money for the company and an inconvenience for the customer, so it was of the upmost importance that I had keen attention to detail to make sure that every item ordered was packed, the address was correct and readable, and that all products were in acceptable condition.

During my time here I had to excel in my customer service ability to meet the needs of every customer. Because of the volume of people coming into the store daily I had to get used to interacting with a large variety of different people and managing situations with difficult customers. Using my people skills and conflict resolution, I was able to consistently ease the customer and come to a suitable conclusion. Due to the number of customers needing help I had to manage my time so that I completed all tasks assigned to me whilst keeping time to help and talk to the customer.

Due to the season, my role in this position was incredibly fast-paced. I had to maintain speed whilst still offering an intimate and personalised customer experience. I worked as part of a team to win friendly sales competitions against other colleagues by always making time for the customer, no matter how busy we were. This position taught me that I am able to make and maintain good relationships even when pushed for time and under pressure.
