In the Power Engineering team, experiencing the design, construction, maintenance and handover of substations and other high voltage sites. Working closely with the Project Engineer to assist with the management of budget and resources as well as the production of technical and safety-focussed reports. Other work included underground cable design, drawing revisions and mark-ups with CAD software and preparation of SCADA logic for Factory Acceptance Testing procedures.

Worked closely with various Adelaide-based clients with large physical asset portfolios to prepare, review and audit financial documents. Gained an in depth understanding of the commercial operations of large companies as well as their legal and financial obligations.

Malawi

Further education through Senior Leadership Training, focusing on the leadership and management of up to five teams each with Team Leaders. This included risk management, crisis and conflict resolution as well as project management skills.Three one-month deployments as the co-leader of groups of up to 40 students in Fiji, Malawi and India responsible for health and wellbeing of the students, successful project outcomes, and overarching project logistics (housing, food, vehicles, budget, schedules).

Cambodia, Malawi

Underwent Team Leadership Training to gain valuable management skills such as leadership, effective communication, conflict management and the context-specific lean startup model. Following successful completion of training, two one-month deployments to Cambodia and Malawi leading teams of nine and five multi-disciplinary teams in researching the viability of business driven solutions to the inaccessibility of affordable energy in these regions.

Timor-Leste

One-month international internship opportunity working towards SDG #6 (clean water and sanitation) through the research and development of small-scale domestic water systems. Included exposure to the hands-on R&D process as well as interactions with key stakeholders (end-users, NGOs, government bodies) in an international setting.
