I am currently undergoing the first 6 month placement of my graduate scheme in the Commercial and Incentives department in GSO. My primary areas of focus are the On-the-day Commodity Market (OCM) which is a balancing market used to fulfill our role at National Gas as Residual Balancer, and the Demand-Side Response tool.I recently graduated from the University of Birmingham receiving my honours in BSc Economics, and will spend 18 months completing my graduate scheme at National Gas.It is a dynamic and fascinating time to be joining the gas industry, especially because I get to see the initial steps being taken for the move towards hydrogen fuel. I aim to make innovative and effective contributions to the GSO, utilising my economics background to help balance the supply and demand of gas in the UK.
