I have been fortunate to take on the brand new created position of Technical Lead / Solutions Architect, M&A, from mid September 2018. What an awesome position to be at the forefront of technology and innovation for CCBA. I have consulted, designed and was instrumental in total technology change for many customers over the last 10-15 years and I feel privileged to be chosen in this position for CCBA. Our team designs and provides innovative networked solutions, systems, processes and blue prints to incorporate newly acquired businesses in Africa, into the CCBA environment. Combining 30+ years of IT systems experience, together with more than 20+ years of Project and Programme management, which creates a solid foundation for this new role. Phase 1 has been successful for both Zambia and Botswana with Phase 2 (SDWAN & complete network revamp and AD integration, already in progress with Day 1 for eSwatini on April 8. Our Project now includes rollout for MS Dynamics for these emerging markets and SDWAN for 130 depots around South Africa and Africa

CCBA is rapidly expanding their footprint and BYTES have been appointed as the preferred NMS and Network Support Partner. We have completed taking on 1500 + devices onto the NMS system for pro-active monitoring. The 1st Phase AD migration & wireless single sign on rollout is complete in Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, UAE, Uganda & Namibia. We have now embarked on the planning of a total LAN refresh in Africa, standardising on Cisco for all in-country sites as well as new countries that is coming on board very soon. In conjunction with the Africa rollout, we are replacing end of support equipment throughout Southern Africa. Indeed a very busy, but exiting time where planning and delivery is absolutely critical!

We have started a new Joint-Venture @ TSI Communication to implement MPLS (Missing Person Locator System) in underground mining operations. We have successfully completed a PoC and were able to start tracking miners within 3 days. A record for this type of operation and other testing proved we can read 100 tags simultaneously, bunched together travelling at 50km/h in a car with the readers placed on the fence. Very impressive indeed!!!!

Implementation and Design of Network upgrades and Project Management of various building moves, VoIP integrations, network replacement/enhancements, load balancing and security implementations.

I was responsible for 20 network Technician to ensure daily service calls were attended to as well as projects / installation were scheduled and completed.

I was responsible for all customer projects and support engineers. We looked after large networks for Enterprise Customers such as Alexander Forbes, Liberty Life, Transnet, SARS etc.
