As Head of IT, I was responsible for technology across the Curro group. This responsibility includes all aspects of technology management found in a publicly listed company.While at Curro Holdings, I formed part of the senior leadership team, leading the organisation in adopting technology as a pivotal strategic advantage in the educational sector. The role developed my ability to translate a broad business strategy into a precise technical execution. My ability to scale this technology execution significantly developed my leadership and organisational skills. This skill enabled Curro to reach its business objectives of making high-quality private education available to as many learners as possible, from poor communities to the privileged. In 2016, CURRO had no technology management structure, less than ten full-time technology and systems resources across the group and almost no dedicated technology budget. When I left, the team grew to around 100 technology professionals across all the various disciplines, from infrastructure to systems development and technology change management teams. I was responsible for• Setting the technology strategy across the group, including all business systems, infrastructure and software development teams.• Aligning the technology strategy with the business.• Executing all the commercial aspects of the technology strategy, from solution identification vendor management to implementation.• Recruitment, growth and continuous development of a team.• The growth of technology services to upward of 90 000 devices • Implementation of approximately 500 different applications covering all aspects of the business.• Development and management of the SiS, LMS, Cyber and Identity management programs.• IT Service level management.• Development of CURRO as an international leader in implementing technology in the Classroom with regular presentations at events and conferences.

A strong technical and marketing competency assisted in us unlocking value for clients.
