The High Commission for India (Trinidad Mission) embarked on the construction of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation. This facility includes an Auditorium, Classroom Block, Office Block, Car Park, Services Buildings, and 4 Residential Buildings. Main Responsibilities included:• Led engineering team and managed the Main Contractor to successfully complete the construction of a $10M USD Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Cultural Centre for the High Commission of India, Port of Spain. The project consisted of a cultural centre, office and classroom buildings, as well as 4nr residential buildings and associated services.• Monitored, tracked, and reported on the progress of construction activities to ensure the project was delivered on time and within budget. • Developed and cultivated relationships with team of consultants (Architects, Electrical Engineers, Plumbing Engineers, Draftsmen, and Quantity Surveyors), jobsite contractors, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure the project deliverables were achieved.• Prepared scope of works for competitive bidding amongst suppliers, evaluated proposals and comparative reports for stakeholder review. Evaluated and gave recommendations on the same.• Inspected and managed the quality of contractor and sub-contractor works on-site to ensure adherence to industry standards and construction best-practice.• Tracked, reported and communicated project status to key stakeholders for risk management.• Evaluated Contractor payment claims and proposals.• Engaged with state agencies to successfully obtain statutory approvals.

Saint Lucia

The Government of St. Lucia, through the Ministry of Education, secured funding via the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to construct 4nr new school blocks at different locations throughout the island. Projects amounted to over $7M USD were delivered in time for the opening of the school terms as planned. Main Responsibilities: • Successfully collaborated and led the team of Consultants and Main Contractors on 4nr separate contracts to deliver all 4nr new school blocks on-time and within budget. • Inspected deliverables put forward by Contractors and Consultants, during construction to ensure compliance with the contracts and specifications.•Evaluated contractor proposals, claims for payment, extension of time requests, and prepared comparative reports for Client review and approval.•Chaired meetings with Government Officials, Contractors and Consultants on project-related issues and challenges.•Coordinated, monitored, and assisted with the management of programme costs to ensure projects stayed within budget.•Assisted in the development of handover documents at the post-construction stage.• Worked without supervision in a different country.• Successfully developed and managed stakeholder relationships.
