With midday for three months, two of my articles have made the BMC release funds and disinfect water. In the coming days the result of my article will see residents win a 7 year old battle for safe sanitary conditions and a high court lawyer file a PIL for a shephard against the Forest Act. The cascading effect a problem has on an individual and society and its causes go very deep, mostly neglected. This trait of not simply accepting what is on the surface led me to not believe certain headlines and went on ground, contradicting it by uncovering a multi crore scam of dummy surveys conducted to create unnecessary and out of use structures. I have filed an RTI application for the information, however with the current evidence I have, the story can still sustain which I will pitch to an employerAs a social worker, I travelled in harsh conditions across villages, tribal areas and urban slums for months making shy people who were scared to talk eventually express their lives and uncover things about themselves for case studies. I also proposed and implemented projects that gave me an understanding of natural and manmade disasters, suicide, child and domestic abuse, tribal causes, hunger and thirst, unsanitary conditions, grassroots entrepreneurship, high risk children, addiction and more. I distributed my time between interviewing people from the grassroots to write case studies of not only problems but vibrancy, resilience, innovation, humanity and unique philosophies and communicating them to corporates and socialites to raise funds; this gave me my fair share of understanding a spectrum of mentalities and human behaviours. I have contacts across the country from many states who could regularly provide me leads to break stories ranging from doctors, community leaders, academics, psychologists, sanitation and public health experts, human rights activists, lawyers, bureaucrats and more. The more I narrate the stories I gather from rural and grassroots India and bring about realisations to urban classes, I feel the divide. I will bring to you the true pulse of countries which are 90% of the population My beat does not limit itself, I have done soft features on football culture in Kerala, road trippers, tribal fashion, unconventional education, environmentalists, relationship coaches, documenting recovery, shifts in consciences and analysis of psychological concepts and more. As a singer songwriter, I use creative expression to reach my next human evolution. I have a goal to systematically bring narratives of mental health to mainstream media.
