In August 2019, I was promoted to Director of Residence Life and Housing. I lead a team of 14 professionals in residential and housing experiences for 2,600 students, 5,000 summer conference guests, and 2,500 meal plan holders. I establish annual budgets with measurable goals based on research and development and develop processes and academic relationships to promote and enhance living-learning communities. I coordinated and led the Housing Master Plan, working directly with KSQ Design, students, and University stakeholders.

I was promoted to administer residential programs for 2,600 students by effectively leading staff of 9 and stewarding an operating budget of $1M. It was my responsibility to manage all hiring and recruiting efforts within operations by selecting, training, and evaluating staff. I was also successful at communicating across multiple organizations levels to ensure compliance with housing exemptions, contracts, and special requests.

I was charged with overseeing operations for five residence halls and four apartment complexes, serving over 2,600 students. I was responsible for managing 100% of recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of five residence coordinators and 90 team members and administering a budget of $130k for administrative and programmatic expenditures. In addition I coached and motivated over 50 students on academic and social concerns to drive retention.Over a thirteen month period I was able to increase hiring productivities by implementing eRezlife software; developed new staff evaluations and ensured selection of top candidates during the interviewing process. I also led project to standardize and enforce operating procedures for executing conference services, introduced successful onboarding activities for new residence coordinators and monitored daily tasks performed by residence coordinators.

I was originally hired by the University of Wyoming to direct a residential community of 1,000 students across three residence halls by provided advising, training, and supervision of two residence coordinators. During my tenure I was able to identify, research and enforce implementation of new polices by effectively collaborating with University Administrators. I restructured the management process for recovering data on conduct violations; utilized Maxient software in collaboration with the Dean of Students. I led global outreach initiatives, including directing a small team of students in renovating a schoolhouse, onsite tutoring, and Jamaican culture and launched successful multi-day Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue program for residents to promote social justice and diversity.

I was hired by Keene State after successful tenures as Graduate Hall Director at Bluffton University and Summer Conference Coordinator at Brown University. It was my responsibility to advise Residence Hall Council and coordinate in-hall and campus wide programming efforts, During my time at Keene State I introduced and implemented seven leadership principles and created in house study hall programs to ensure students’ academic success. I was also responsible for adjudicating disciplinary cases and emphasizing restorative justice and reflective learning as Hearing Officer. I also established outreach program policy and procedure guide for weekly community outreach initiatives with local non-profit organizations and developed effective monthly series on peer relationships, academics, diversity, personal development, and finances for second year residents.
