I have just finished studying Architectural Technology at Leeds Beckett University, graduating in July.I have always been interested in design after studying Graphic Design at GCSE and Product Design at A Level. I designed and created a board game “Globetrotters” and a paint pot holder for a ladder in aid of the painting and decorating industry, due to the struggles with the three contact rule. I also completed a 1 week work experience at an Architectural firm in Sheffield. I have recently taken a year out of university to complete a placement year in which I worked as a Project Manager for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. I was part of design work, tender submissions, working with contractors in meetings and on site and all project planning from start to finish. I was able to complete numerous projects in my year, varying from toilets to a discharge lounge. I have also been able to join in within larger scale projects such as cardiac theatres, outpatient departments and ward refurbishments. I am now working at David Yeadon Limited as an Architectural Technologist. The company specialises in Education. I am looking forward to furthering my career and learning new skills. I am now looking forward to completing my Chartership or Part 2.
