I look after two children aged 8 and 11. I drive them to and from school, to after school activities, I then cook for them and stay with them until the parents get home. This has given me a sense of punctuality as I have to be there on time so the children are not late.

I work every Sunday at a Shabby Chic Boutique, selling clothes, jewelry, and home ware. I open the shop and work all day on my own. I am given complete responsibility; this has made me more confident and I have found it is useful to note when talking to other potential employers. Working at Total Look has helped me develop my customer service skills and people skills even further. At the end of the day I cash up the till and close the shop.

I worked on the shop floor as well as behind the tills serving customers. I enjoyed interacting with customers and this improved my customer service skills immensely. I would unload deliveries, stay till late to get promotions sorted for the next day and much more.

This was and still is a home-run, family business, so I would help my parents with deliveries, big end of tenancy cleans, laundry etc. I had quite an active role and enjoyed working alongside my parents but also interacting with customers. It gave me quite a good insight into the working world from a young age.
