My current work as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Mary Kay Lobo's lab examines molecular mechanisms within specific neuronal cell-type and neural circuits relevant to drug addiction and relapse.

My doctoral research in Dr. Marcelo Wood's lab was focused on identifying epigenetic mechanisms that underlie memory-related and cocaine-seeking behaviors.

As a junior specialist in Dr. Szumlinski's lab, I led my own independent project, which examined the impact of kinase activity on mGlur5 glutamatergic activity within the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis and how this affects alcohol-induced behaviors.

As an undergraduate, I conducted research in Dr. Karen Szumlinski’s lab at UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Szumlinski’s research focuses on the role of postsynaptic scaffolding proteins regulating drug-induced changes to extracellular glutamate and glutamate receptor function within the mouse forebrain. I contributed to projects that examined the role of Group 1 metabotropic Glutamatergic receptors (mGlur) and downstream kinase signaling within mesocorticolimbic regions on alcohol intake.
