During the PhD track, I worked in a project in which we want to study the different phenotypes of microglia. This was done in a model called chimeric organotypic hippocampal slice cultures.The most important thing I learned during this track, was project management. After my return from London I have start working at this cinema again as a side job.Since 2013 I am a Crewleader, as which I have to supervise a group of service employees.

During my master I have focussed more on Neuroscience. I have done a 9 month internship at the LACDR and a 6 month intership at University College London. Also I have finished a literature study titled 'The role of platelets in the innate immunity and their function in atherosclerosis'. I have followed the following courses:- Blood Brain Barrier- Stress.

6 month internship at the department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy at UCL. Here I have participated in three different projects, all focussed on partial epilepsy.

9 month internship at the department of Medical Pharmacology at the Leiden Amsterdam Centre of Drug research in Leiden. During my internship I have participated in a project focussing on epilepsy, stress and neurogenesis. My particular part of the project focussed on the role of microglia in epilepsy associated neurogenesis.

During my bachelor studies at the Leiden University I have followed a variety of courses, focussing on research. In my third year I have followed a 6 month minor: 'Modern Drug Discovery'.
