Current- Represent clients with intellectual property litigation matters in federal court and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.- Represent clients with commercial litigation matters in state and federal court, including qui tam and class action litigation, and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.- Prepare witnesses for deposition; take and defend depositions of fact, corporate, and expert witnesses.- Author numerous motion papers, and argue pre-trial issues, in… Show more - Represent clients with intellectual property litigation matters in federal court and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.- Represent clients with commercial litigation matters in state and federal court, including qui tam and class action litigation, and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.- Prepare witnesses for deposition; take and defend depositions of fact, corporate, and expert witnesses.- Author numerous motion papers, and argue pre-trial issues, in state and federal court and before the USPTO, including motions to dismiss, motions to consolidate, motions for summary judgment or judgment as a matter of law, motions in limine, claim construction briefings, and covered business method and inter partes review petitions (both as Petitioner and Patent Owner).- Brief and argue appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit- Facilitate the discovery process for intellectual property and commercial litigation, including preparing and propounding discovery requests and interrogatories, drafting objections to propounded discovery requests and interrogatories, preparing and negotiating various case management orders (e.g., docket control, discovery, and protective orders).- In-depth research into a wide variety of intellectual property and commercial issues including.- Representative experience with clients in Texas state court, as second-chair trial attorney in three commercial litigation cases, including one jury trial.- Perform duties as lead counsel in post-grant proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and federal district court proceedings in the Eastern District of Texas.- Lead negotiations for settlement in dozens of cases involving intellectual property and commercial litigation issues.
