I was successful in scaling Laureate's presence in South America by entering new countries through M&A and geographic and product/segment expansion. Additionally, I acquired 11 institutions in Andean region and 12 in Brazil while increasing footprint/rapid scaling of the acquired institutions. This contributed to share price appreciation to $63 per share in 2007 from $7 per share when Laureate became private-equity owned.
