I recently completed my PhD, which focused on studying the fear circuitry in rats through optogenetics and pharmacological manipulations, as well as electrophysiological studies. Specifically, my research explored the role of the cuneiform nucleus in this circuitry. Throughout the course of my work, I collected and analyzed extensive data to support my findings.To support my studies, I was fortunate to have received a scholarship from FAPESP (#2018/00576-3) in the amount of R$ 151,221.72 (approximately US$ 40,000).

I was supervised as a visiting researcher by Dr. Colin Lever of the University of Durham, England for a period of 3 months in the Psychology department. During this period I learned to perform multi unitary and local field potential recordings in freely moving animals, as well as being able to install and make functional the electrophysiology system acquired by Professor Dr. Newton Sabino Canteras, with the help of FAPESP.
