DAWN is an international organization of feminist researchers, analysts and activists from the Global South, who work for gender, economic and ecological justice and for sustainable and democratic development. Since its founding in 1984, DAWN has been recognized for its feminist analysis of gender and development and for its participation in global women's and feminist movements, holding consultative status at the UN since the 1990s. As Communications Officer, I am responsible for media strategies, the everyday dissemination of DAWN’s ideas via a variety of formats and channels and contact with various audiences and stakeholders across the globe.

Various documentary projects at Sempre Viva Produções. Sempre Viva is the brainchild of pioneer filmmaker, educator, activist and explorer at large, Eduardo Homem, his daughter, Valentina Homem and a group of associates and friends working on a variety of multimedia fronts. Eduardo has produced iconic films and photographic work across the globe, from the independence struggle in Mozambique in the 1970s to the Sandinistas in Nicaragua's revolutionary period. He brings these unique experiences to all his projects in a most generous way. Valentina Homem is an award-winning filmmaker working with documentaries, fiction, videoart, animated films, and experimental media. Her first short film landed her in Cannes, at the prestigious Un Certain Regard track and today she is producing a large international project connecting experiences from Northeastern Brazil and sub-Saharan Africa. I have been associated with Sempre Viva for more than 10 years and continue to collaborate in a variety of capacities, often bringing other partners into the fold as well.

KaZaWa works with creative content and sustainable production out of Frankfurt, Germany. The company offers online, social media and TV services, delivering communication solutions nationally and internationally. I have known and worked with the company's CEO since 2002, and together we have participated in many projects, on all continents. I have supported communications work on various fronts for the Frankfurt-based company and developed several film projects in Brazil, often in collaboration with other production teams, especially Sempre Viva and Nótula, but also Cara de Cão and others. Editing consulting (doctoring), photography and technical consulting, research and project development. KaZaWa and PI are my main production contacts in Europe, and mandatory stop whether I am visiting for work or leisure.

Creation of several media products filmed in the Peruvian Amazon.

Researched and directed a documentary about the personal experience of inequality in Brazilian society. Produced by Luis Leitão & Nótula.

Researched, crafted and delivered 60 hours of classes on media production to Palestinian teachers attending a summer school offered free-of-charge by the A.M. Qattan Foundation. Delivered 4 video productions made by the students along with dozens of photo experiments and several slide shows on film and filmmaking.

Advised the board of the foundation on the restructuring of its media operations. Main topics: mission deficiencies, targeting intended audiences, product creation, equipment acquisition, IT, editing protocols, archiving & backup protocols and accessibility. Visited cultural centres in Europe, the Middle East and Brazil as well as interviewed a variety of professionals to prepare a 50 pages document which I presented at the Foundation's annual board meeting.

Produced a medium-length documentary about the Palestinian Summer School project for teachers in the Occupied Territories. In the process, I worked alongside the organization's staff applying a participatory communication methodology.

Grupo Sal is a content production company creating video, design, motion graphics and advertisement strategies for a variety of companies, including Google, Nike and Coca-Cola in Brazil. I have been working with Grupo Sal since its establishment as a freelancer and from 2009 to 2013 as permanent staff. My main function was postproduction manager, in charge of a team of 12 to 20 people delivering 150+ videos per year, almost 4 per week. Our products were made for broadcast on main cable channels as well as the Internet. I was responsible for hiring and training, editing and post protocols, equipment acquisitions and back-up systems. I was also the last eyes on any video product leaving the house before delivery. On occasion, I directed videos for our main clients: Google, Nike and SRCOM, actively participating in photography and editing in productions that often involved complex equipment such as cranes, drones and Steadicam.

Work on location across Brazil with Fabio Serfaty (main photographer) for the Por Toda Minha Vida TV series among other smaller products. We developed together the Panasonic HVX200 workflow for Globo on this series (and other companies) and managed it.

Video editor and photographer with Georges Drouet's outfit, based in Bruxelles. Among many other smaller products, we created the TV series "Europe: 10 Points" with RTBF - Belgian National TV supported by DG Enlarg on 10 new European Union member states, travelling to all of these countries to create 25-minute programmes about life, culture, politics and history and inform EU-members about the new partners in the world's largest economic block. We also developed off-shoots from the large 49-country production "Volunteers Odyssey" with various crews.

Directed, photographed and edited 7 films in this series of 49 reports produced by 7 teams of young international video makers. The reports explore volunteer work around the world on the UN's year of the volunteer (2001). My team worked in Greece, Russia, Egypt, Burkina Faso, USA, Ecuador & Samoa. Coordinated with local NGOs, humanitarian agencies and government officials on the ground, facilitating interviews and shoots in often challenging locations."Volunteers Odyssey" with TV5 • RTBF • Canal Sur • Duna • TF1/Odyssée • RTVE, etc. Participated in the crafting of various products based on the videos shot in 45 countries of Africa, America, Asia, Europe and the Pacific, by a team of 21 young filmmakers from 21 different nationalities/Asia : Bangladesh, Cambodia, Chine, India, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, VietnamPacific : Australia, Papua New-Guinea, New Zealand, SamoaAmericas: Argentine, Brazil, Canada, Costa-Rica, United States, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Mexico, Nicaragua, PeruAfrica: South Africa, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Egypt, Ile Maurice, Jordan, Reunion, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, TanzaniaEditor for TV series on cooperation for development, European affairs.
