Design and supervise the investment portfolio of the prioritized sectors of the economy. Serve as the direct link to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies and Commercial Offices, as well as other government’s institutions, chambers of commerce, private enterprises, and NGOs. Provide personalized care for investors, accompany investor’s missions as well as official government visits, and promote the Ecuadorian investment portfolio abroad.

Work with the Committee of Ecuadorian Foreign Trade Policy (COMEX), to investigate, develop, and apply policy tools that will expand the Ecuadorian economy and promote its exports. Compose foreign trade reports between Ecuador and its main trading partners, compile and analyze information about the productivity of the country and potential products to be exported, as well as revise legislation, treaties and agreements. Represent the committee in meetings with other ministries, public institutions, NGO’s, private sector and foreign governments. Attend trade negotiations between Ecuador and foreign countries, and advice the Committee of Foreign Trade Policy about the benefits, advantages and disadvantages of such negotiations.
