Working in a busy and demanding area of London, I hold responsibility for investigations, from initial planning and strategy setting, pursuing lines of enquiry, completion of case papers through to presenting evidence at court. I oversee a significant caseload ensuring effective prioritisation of deadlines and objectives. I manage a wide range of cases from fraud and acquisitive offences through to violent crime and drug offences, consistently delivering the very highest standards of evidence to support subsequent convictions. During this time, I was selected to perform the duties of the rank above my own, Detective Sergeant, having shown aptitude and ability to organise and lead. I have demonstrated the ability to prioritise workloads, ensure the effective use of resources and developed and implemented strategies to enhance service delivery and team performance.

I worked in a variety of specialist units:Forensic Converter Team I was selected to join this investigation unit, tasked with reviewing cases were new forensic strategies had the potential to now resolve previously unsolved cases. I utilised all available methods of locating identified suspects and ensured compelling case papers were presented to the Crown Prosecution Service and the court. This role required travel throughout the UK, working with partner agencies to locate and detain suspects. Offender Management Unit I worked in support of both MPS and UK wide law enforcement agencies interests, locating and supporting operations to arrest individuals with active arrest warrants who had failed to surrender to police. The seriousness of offending, and risk, varied considerably attracting the need for prioritisation and intelligence gathering around each individual. I liaised extensively with external agencies including Border Agency, Interpol and the MPS extradition unit. I drove investigations to secure location, oversaw arrests and ensured all legal compliance was met and all legal documentation was correct and available for court appearances. Community Safety UnitThis sensitive and often challenging role involved the investigation and detection of domestic and racially motivated crimes. The need for a thoughtful yet tenacious approach was paramount, to balance the need to secure convictions and also support, often vulnerable, victims. Missing Person UnitI was tasked to locate vulnerable and high risk individuals who were reported as missing. This required extensive information gathering, working with partner law enforcement agencies and utilising social media to rapidly track and locate 'at risk' individuals. I served as an MPS representative on multi-agency safeguarding panels seeking to promote best practice and mitigate risk.

Like all police officers, I began my service as a constable. I worked my way through a range of roles affording me a strong foundation of enquiry, observation and personal interaction. I undertook operational roles, including working as part of a response team tasked with the immediate management of critical incidents and support for a variety of demanding operational activities. This role required a thoughtful and considered approach, often under pressure of time and tight budgetary constraints. I consistently demonstrated an ability to manage a diversity of issues, to influence positively and to process information quickly and accurately. I established and maintained resilient relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring the most positive outcomes for community members.
