    At GMAP my area of research is stream processing. Specifically, I research algorithms to adapt the behavior of GPU-accelerated stream processing applications at runtime so that they comply with service level objectives (SLO). Through this research I enhanced my experience with C++ and GPU-related libraries such as CUDA, OpenCL, and others.Most of my experience with streaming is based on stream processing systems for C++ coming from research, such as FastFlow and Spar.

    In parallel with my masters research on high-performance computing, at LIS I worked with projects involving the fields of embedded computing, machine learning, computer vision, and accessibility. In embedded computing, the project's goal is to provide documentation and tests for the HP Remote System Controller (RSC) device. I am currently working in this project. In this project, I acquired experience with the Redfish specification, programming for the RaspberryPI, and developing a custom automation testing tool.In accessibility, I participated in a project that used machine learning to retrieve information from digital image documents. The goal was to help visually disabled people to understand charts and tables originating mainly from academic papers. My focus was on the detection of table position and table cells. I gained experience with using Python frameworks such as PyTorch and MMDetection.In computer vision, the project was on improving the quality of HP Smart's document digitization through machine learning. In this project, I mainly worked on generating annotated synthetic documents for augmenting our training dataset. I acquired experience with OpenCV and the parsing and generation of PDF documents.

    At LARCC my research and development centers on distributed computing. For my undergraduate thesis at LARCC, I worked on porting CFD (Computational fluid dynamics) applications from Fortran to C++, and parallelizing applications using the MPI and HPX libraries (for cluster).
