Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo G. Singleton, who is a Mount Vernon, New York resident, had been a member of the United States Army for 40 years. He first enlsited into the Army in 1974. He obtained his commission through the Reserve Officers Training Corp at Fordham University, Bronx, New York, in 1985.Lieutenant Colonel Singleton's, last tour of duty was in Laghman Afghanistan, where he was the Deputy Commanding Officer of the Provincial Reconstruction Team, a unit indtroducted by the United States Government, consisting of military officers, diplomats, and reconstruction subject matter experts, working to support reconstruction efforts in unstable areas of Afghanistan.His most recent tour of duty is one of many he has served. He has also supported Operation Desert shield/Desert Storm, served in Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghaistan.Lieutenant Colonel Singleton is a member of the American Legion Post 274 in Peekskill, New York, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6396, Mount Vernon, New York, Nimrod Masonic Lodge#82, Newburgh, New York, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Westchester/Bronx Chapter, a member of the Catherine A.M.E. Zion Church, New Rochelle, New York, The Reserve Officer's Association, the Civil Affairs Association, The Pershing Rifles of Fordham University.Lieutenant Colonel Singleton is the reciptient of two Bronze Stars, a Joint Service Commendation Service Medal, Two Department of State Meritorious Honors Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, eight Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, and other awards.He now works for the Law firm of Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, as a Case Manager, he is single and has one daughter, Makayla, 6 years of old.
