I am responsible for a variety of maintenance and service tasks to ensure the optimal performance of medical equipment. My role includes performing preventive maintenance on temporary external pacemakers, such as the Medtronic 5392 model. I also conduct preventive maintenance on Kangaroo feeding pumps and service a wide range of biomedical equipment, including patient warmers (Mistral Air), compression units (Kendal SCD 700) and thoracic drainage units (Thopaz+). Additionally, I troubleshoot and perform maintenance on patient monitors, such as the Philips X3 and MX700, demonstrating a comprehensive expertise in maintaining and repairing critical medical devices.

During my second coop placement, my focus as a Biomedical Technologist was on ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of a diverse range of medical equipment. I focused on tasks such as replacing door latches on Giraffe Omnibed Incubators, receiving specialized training on X Series and R Series defibrillators and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on Baxter IV Pumps. Additionally, I also worked on replacing micro blender kits and servicing Giraffe Infant Warmers, as well as troubleshooting and performing scheduled maintenance on dialysis machines like the Gambro Artis, and testing water purification systems, including the WRO 300/300H and Water Treatment Room systems. This role required a dedicated approach to maintaining high standards of patient care through meticulous equipment management.

I was responsible for performing thorough inspections, installation and configuration of new medical equipment. Since this was my very first experienced in the biomedical field, my role involved testing and repairing a wide range of biomedical devices and conducting routine servicing of various medical devices such as Alaris IV pumps, vital signs monitors (Welch Allyn) and thermometers in accordance with manufacturer manuals. I ensured adherence to hospital policies and regulations to provide the highest standard of patient care. Additionally, I managed the replacement of PCB boards in devices like vital signs machines and Alaris IV pumps, ensuring their reliable and accurate operation.

As an Electric Go-Kart Mechanic, I provided expert technical support and consultation, addressing various maintenance and troubleshooting needs to ensure the optimal performance and safety of the go-karts. My role involved diagnosing and repairing electronic connections to guarantee the reliable operation of the go-karts' electrical systems. Additionally, I conducted thorough inspections to verify the security and integrity of each go-kart, ensuring that all safety standards and client requirements were met.
