I always start with 3 guiding principles when launching DevRel strategies and executing community growth plans: ✅ Listen to your developers ✅ Understand their needs ✅ Advocate for them internally My journey as a developer relations leader and community builder began 10 years ago when I joined BeMyApp to help manage client projects - mainly hackathons, meetups and developer challenges. I worked alongside marketing teams at tech giants like Intel, Salesforce and HP (among others) and it was here where I discovered this new, very niche, industry and world of "technical marketers," "developer advocates" and "evangelists." At the time, these job titles were very rare..and I loved it. From there, the rest is history. I've built developer relations functions and advocacy programs from scratch, launched developer community platforms at Visa and Marqeta, designed developer marketing strategies at Stripe and Meta overseeing content, events, social media, partnerships, moderation, user group, GTM, newsletters and surveys. I am passionate about building, nurturing, and engaging communities...and more specifically the developer audience which requires a different approach.
