About Ricardo Theiner

Hi, my name is Ricardo Theiner. I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria, and I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.👨‍💻 Having worked as one of the first hires for several start-up and scale-up companies in Austria, England, and the United States, I was responsible for Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, and Operations Management. This experience provided me with early exposure to nurturing and scaling a business from the startup phase through growth to maturity.💡 After helping other companies make their mark on the world and identifying a gap in the marketplace, I started my own company, a hospitality startup automating operations for short-term rental and vacation rental owners and managers.🤩 In just four short years, I launched the company in three US cities, creating 65 jobs and generating 7-figures in annual revenue. 💰 In 2020, I successfully sold my business and continued consulting the new management until the end of 2021.🚀 From the beginning of 2022 until July 2023 I helped Delivery Hero/ Foodora grow their partner portfolio as their Head of Sales, managing a team of 21 Sales professionals.⚓️ Most recently I started "Captain Athletic Club". We host Sports, Fitness and Wellness focused events, to connect like-minded founders and help them have fun on the entrepreneurial journey while also staying fit & well. It's the club I wished existed, when I needed a strong founder community and more opportunities to be active.🤖 In the late evenings I am also exploring the limitless possibilities of A.I. within a business context. Having completed multiple online certificates with the University of Pennsylvania, I am continuously looking to deepen my knowledge and stay at the forefront of advancements in this dynamic field. 📚 What I enjoy:Reading, listening to podcasts and constantly learning; hosting events; sports, fitness & wellness activities, family time. 🤓 What I read & learn about: Business; Leadership; Innovation; Technology; Artificial Intelligence, Trends; Self Improvement; Well-being.👉 Interesting facts:I have lived and worked in four different countries - Austria, England, USA and Mexico.I‘m married to a Mexican-American who I met while playing in a charity soccer tournament in the US.We have two kids under 5 and we speak English, Spanish and German at home. Travelled to 50+ cities in 17 countries.Created a board game, that I should launch one of these days.
