▪ I secured a role as a Support Worker with Choice One Agency on a casual basis whem I first arrived into Perth.▪ My role involved many working in many different aspects of support work such as Home Care, Residential Care for Individuals with Intellectual Disability, and Care Centre’s for Victims of Domestic Violence.

▪ St. Michaels House provides a community-based residential service for adults and children with varying physical and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries and mental health disorders.▪ I was employed at St. Michaels House on a full-time basis as a Social Care Worker.▪ My responsibilities included assisting service-users with personal care, meal time, activities of daily living, hoisting and ensuring each service-user achieves goals set by themselves or their key-worker. ▪ I also used effective communication skills with all service users, both verbal and non-verbal.

▪ As part of my Applied Social Care degree, I was required to undertake 12 weeks of work placement. I was accepted into S.O.S.A.D. which is a suicide prevention organization▪ As my time there was successful and I exceeded expectations, I was trained as a Risk Assessor and continued to be a regular volunteer following the completion of my work placement.▪ My duties involved conducting psychological testing on clients and providing them with the help and support they needed.

▪ I was employed as a store assistant in ALDI for 18 months. I managed to maintain a 35 hour working week as well as a full-time college course in order to fund my studies.▪ My duties involved providing satisfactory customer service, working to deadlines and ensuring smooth running of everyday procedures on the store floor.

▪ As part of my Community Health Services qualification, I was required to undertake 6 weeks work experience with a local organization. I was accepted into Drogheda Homeless Aid which provides refuge for homeless males in the community.
