As a contractor my focus was on the creation and turn up of central office interconnects on the Sonus soft switch platform remotely around the country at DS3, T1 and trunk levels. This required coordination between various departments within Inteliquent as well as with various customers in the telecommunications industry in accordance with our department’s procedures from within the que in a timely manner. There were also requirements for creating SS7 connections as well as using SS7 and CDRs for troubleshooting purposes on new integrations as well as with customer trouble reports. To save expenses I was also involved in numerous hardware installation and removals within the central office requiring work with fiber optic, Ethernet and DC power connections.

My time with MetroPCS was split between both the Philadelphia and South Florida markets. While in the Philadelphia market I was one of 4 key personnel responsible for building and launching that market. Responsibilities included equipment and structural installation, procedure development, working with various vendors to order and integrate hardware and turn up the MetroPCS network. During my time with Focal Communications I was a key member of the team that built and launched both the Philadelphia and Miami markets. Responsible for day to day operations of a Nortel DMS-500 switch, OC-48 carrier handoffs, CAC widebank MUXs, Liebert air handlers and an MGE UPS system providing power to our co-located customers. - Acting manager, interacting with vendors creating purchase orders, scheduling customer turn ups as well as maintaining employee and on call schedules.- Lead technician responsible for installation of transport and co-location equipment.- Configured co-location cabinets for customers, including running all power and communications cables.- Resolve customer trouble tickets within designated MTTR guidelines.- Completed multiple Nortel training courses as well as Telcordia SS7 and Professional installation courses.- Training of co-workers and developing central office procedures.- Performed periodic firmware upgrades on Nortel DMS-500 switching equipment.- Performed regular preventive maintenance on critical equipment such as two MGE UPS and backup Generators

Greater Philadelphia Area

Part of key personnel responsible for launching the Philadelphia market for SprintPCS. While my main responsibility was testing and maintaining T1 and DS3 circuits, I also maintained, troubleshot and engineered two Lucent ECPs and 5ESS’s along with a Lucent HLR.
