Selected as exchange officer to represent the RCAF on an Outside of Canada (OUTCAN) assignment as part of the United States Air Forces' (USAF) Military Personnel Exchange Program (MPEP) in the role of C-17 Globemaster III Aircraft Commander.

Trenton, Ontario, Canada

First operational flying assignment assigned to CFB Trenton's 429 Transport Squadron. Achieved Airland Aircraft Commander certification on the CC-177 Globemaster III, authorizing the command of aircraft and crew to support global operational missions tasked by the Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) at the RCAF's 1 Canadian Air Division (CAD). Mission sets ranged from strategic airlift of cargo and personnel in the Arctic region to tactical airlift into and out of hostile downrange locations. Had opportunity to provide humanitarian aid and hurricane relief to the Caribbean region while operating with Global Affairs Canada (GAC) to return over 60 evacuees to Canada, in support of the 2017 Operation Renaissance.Held flying qualifications to include CC-177 Airdrop Copilot and CC-177 Air Demonstration Copilot, while holding officer position in the Training, TRSET (Transport and Rescue Standards and Evaluation Team) Assist and Standards' offices. Liaised with the USAF's contracted L3/Flight Safety/Boeing Simulator scheduler to ensure periodic and requalification simulator training requirements were completed for CC-177 pilots.

Successfully completed the following Pilot Phase training to Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Wings Standard:i) Primary Flight Training (PFT) 2012: Completed on the low-wing aerobatic Grob-120A at 3 CFFTS.ii) Basic Flight Training (BFT) 2014: Completed on the CT-156 Harvard II (T-6A Texan II) with a syllabus consisting of simulator training, clearhood, instrument, low-level and 2-ship formation flying operations at 2 CFFTS.iii) Advanced Flight Training (AFT) 2015: Completed on the Beech Raytheon King Air C-90B with a syllabus focussed on Crew Resource Management (CRM) and multi-engine operations, at 3 CFFTS. Officer Cadet enrolled at McMaster University's mechanical engineering program under the Canadian Armed Forces' (CAF) Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) Civilian University.The program was successfully completed leading to the presentation of the CAF's Officer's Commission along with undergraduate degree (B. Eng).

Achieved USAF Evaluator Aircraft Commander certification authorizing in-aircraft and full-motion simulator instruction and evaluation of C-17 tactical flying applications to include air-to-air refuelling, low-level operations along with strategic airlift in support of Air Mobility Command (AMC) assigned missions to all seven continents. Entrusted with the position of deputy flight commander in Squadron Training and Operations and deputy chief of Standards & Evaluations.Graduated the Pilot Checkout (PCO) and Instructor Aircraft Commander (IAC) courses at the 97th Airlift Wing, Altus AFB, OK., becoming the first Canadian C-17 Pilot to air-to-air refuel against the USAF's newest tanker aircraft, a Boeing KC-46 Pegasus (767 platform).Was Chief Squadron Operations Controller (SOC) coordinating the Squadron's launch of crews for Operation Allied Refuge (OAR) carrying out Non-combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) out of Kabul, Afghanistan. It involved the short-notice identification, notification and launch of augmented C-17 crews to Europe and the Middle-East, in coordination with numerous Squadron and Wing-level support agencies. This joint effort led to the evacuation of over 120,000 people from Kabul, Afghanistan in less than three weeks, considered to be the largest non-combative airlift in USAF history.Operation Deep Freeze 2021 (Rotation 1):Deployed as part of the 304th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron (EAS) achieving Ice Instructor Pilot (IP) qualification authorizing the instruction and command of missions to and from Antarctica's Phoenix Airfield ice runway, in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF). Successfully flew over 775,000 lbs of cargo and 200 passengers; including fresh food, critical airfield approach equipment and first COVID-19 vaccines for US Antarctic Program's (USAP) McMurdo Station personnel.
