Host and creator of "Power Source Country". The show was sponsored by "Power Source Music Magazine" and was originally produced by hit songwriter Robert Jason. Years later I began working with radio producer and recording engineer Tim Scott whom I met when I started hosting Country star radio specials at "The Marketing Group". I built the shows affiliate list in house from 0 to nearly 100 radio stations across the USA and Canada. The show received strong positive reviews from both programmers and listeners. Syndication partners over the years have included Jones Radio Network, United Stations, and Westwood One Radio Network.

Instructor at the Nashville branch of the school until it closed. I had never done any kind of classroom teaching prior but really enjoyed sharing what I have learned in the radio business and helping new talent learn the basics.

I was hired to be "on air" full time at WSM-FM. My first day at the station was back when WSM-AM and WSM-FM were in the same building. Legendary Opry announcer Grant Turner saw me standing alone in the hallway and said "hey are you the new FM DJ?" I said "yes sir and introduced myself, he said "my name is Grant Turner", he put his hand on my shoulder and said "son, if you ever need anything just let me know? Welcome to the family!" At that moment I knew I was someplace very special! I started on overnights then moved into afternoon drive reaching #1 in the market in the 25-54 listener demographic. When the "Wildhorse Saloon" opened in downtown WSM-FM had built a showcase broadcast studio inside that you could see from 2nd avenue. I spent 5 years "on air' from 7-midnight, 5 nights a week with an unbelievable list of guests dropping by (many unscheduled) including Country artists , tv, and movie stars, Nascar drivers, and other celebrity's! There were TV shows being shot there almost every week and live music every night from future Country stars including Lonestar, Keith Urban, Ricochet, Trick Pony, and others! The house DJ/Dance instructor was Chris Lucas who later became half of the hit duo "LoCash". Chris and I hosted a contest called "Sing To Win" with long lines down 2nd avenue to get in. Some of the contestants like Chris Young, later became stars. One night a lightning strike hit the the roof antenna and came through the studio console destroying it. That permanently closed the Wildhorse Saloon studio.

Afternoon Drive HostI met Ron Jordon when we were both at WLRQ and he told me about a radio job opening that was about to happen at WTMG on Music Row on the top floor of a building there! A DJ named Phil Valentine, (the future syndicated Talk show host ) was leaving the station to do mornings at WLAC and Ron suggested I call the PD. I was invited over and Phil gave me the tour, I spent some time with him in the studio learning how to run everything and went to work.

Mid-day HostI got this job on a Friday literally the day after I moved to Nashville! I was driving around in Brentwood and started talking to a local who told me there was a radio station in a building right behind us . I walked in, found the station inside, then met the program director Dick Shannon. We talked for 5 minutes and he said "I've been wanting to get off the air and focus on other things here, ya know your voice sounds similar enough to mine, are you interested in doing the midday slot? Can you start on Monday?". I was there till the station began changing format and became Lightning 100 which as it turns out was very similar to WEQX.

I was a full time member of the original airstaff. I met station owner Brooks Brown in the first weeks of the station's launch. Co-hosted the first WEQX morning show with Steve Anthony. Later became afternoon host. Helped the station develop programing including a weekly radio magazine and special features. WEQX has gone on to be named by Rolling Stone Magazine as "Best Rock Station in America".
