Founding PartnerTechnium, Inc May 1994 - Dec 2001Started Technium in 1994 & left in 2001: I remember having the company's original servers in my apartment in uptown Chicago ;-) when we first started... Recruited all start-up talent and the majority of the hires through the next 7 years; as well as developed breadth and depth accounts, including business partnerships with Microsoft (Gold Partner) and Sun Microsystems. Built the company to 150 consultants (mostly in Chicago & Dallas), then left the company to my two remaining partners in 2001. I moved on to help create 2 more start-ups in the Chicago/National IT professional services market (Inlcuding West Monroe Partners) between 2001 & 2003. Then I met a group of docs that wanted to change the world for the better in emergency medicine and I couldn't resist the challenge... Prior to 1994, I did the same thing for another IT consulting firm starting right out of grad-school; Synectics (i.e., grew the business from 12 to 125 consultants)...the only difference was that I was an employee (VP Recruiting & Biz Dev) and not a partner.
