I went back to college as a mature student to study motor vehicle maintenance. whilst there I sought a work placement even though not a requirement but I felt that I needed to do as to gain experience in a workshop environment, which I spent 2yrs at WH Martin learning & helping to maintaining their fleet of light & heavy commercial vehicles as well as NHS East Mids Ambulance Service vehicles & MOD OSHKOSH tank transporters.I contacted my mature student learning by attending a NVQ level 2 in railway maintenance & engineering. This gave me the opportunity to gain a qualification in an industry that I have many years experience in. I am currently working as a caravan & motorhome maintenance & service technician also my current employer has provided all necessary training for my roll including my service engineer qualification, ACOPS gas course & LV/ELV electric courses. my hobby has been caravans & camping since a young child, my current job has allowed me to turn my hobby into a full time job I enjoy along with the knowledge gained from formal training & qualifications.
