Mocean Energy are designing and delivering wave energy converters (WECs) to provide ocean equipment and the grid with clean, carbon-free renewable energy. My responsibilities include the delivery of scale model testing and the analysis of the associated data. I also support at sea testing of full size WECs.

Responsible for leading the development of the Mermaid product. In addition, I am responsible for external user support, leading Mermaid consultancy and applying Mermaid to problem solving for the wider James Fisher group and in EDS HV's asset management works.

In 2020 responsibility for the development of Mermaid transferred from James Fisher Marine Services to James Fisher Asset Information Services. JF AIS are responsible for the digital assets of the James Fisher group, digitally solving problems for asset owners & operators in high risk and critical infrastructure sectors.My responsibilities still include leading the development of the Mermaid product. In addition, I am responsible for external user support, leading Mermaid consultancy and applying Mermaid to problem solving for the wider James Fisher group.

Following the acquisition of Mojo Maritime by James Fisher I continue to develop the Mermaid system. I work primarily in the .NET Framework, C# and Python and use Agile project management. I have worked as part of a small software development team and as an independent developer. I also designed the Mermaid training materials and was responsible for delivering training to many different Mermaid users during the software’s beta testing and early commercialisation phase.

Responsible for the analysis of weather and schedule risk for offshore operations my work at Mojo Maritime was initially performed in parallel with my Ph.D. research at the University of Exeter ("Installation optimisation for marine energy converters to inform the designation process: Technical solutions to maximise economic benefits"). This research lead to the development of Mermaid (Marine Economic Risk Management Aid), a software package for the simulation of marine works.My current responsibilities include the development and application of Mermaid and I work alongside Mojo's marine project engineers, marine operations managers and software engineers to achieve this. Mermaid has been utilised in offshore wind, wave and tidal energy simulations and is suited to the analysis of oil and gas works and all other diverse offshore operation types.

Responsibilities included leading the design, to DNV standards, of a highly innovative mooring system for the MRC Oscillating Water Column via OrcaFlex and tank testing. I was also involved in the development of Wave to Wire model in MatLab and Simulink coding environment and provided support for other engineering and hydrodynamic work packages, including assessment of site data and wave climate.

Working in a consultancy capacity, I produced a design for an array mooring system for the PowerBuoy (PB) 150 via OrcaFlex.
