Section 12 (1) (c) of the Right to Education guarantees 25% provision for children belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) or socially disadvantaged groups or physically handicapped children or orphans in entering classes of private unaided schools. SEWA Bharat is a national level federation of SEWA member organisations, with the mandate to highlight issues concerning women working in the informal sector and to strengthen the capacity of the organisations that serve the interests of these women.Key responsibilities: - Developed and executed a media strategy for SEWA's varying programs of vocational training in New Delhi, Financial Inclusion in Uttrakhand, and Solid Waste Management in Bihar. - Developed and executed a communications strategy for SEWA for external outreach including key stakeholders such as government institutions, existing funders and potential collaborators. - Ideated and implemented SEWA's Maiden Youth Festival showcasing the talent of young underprivileged girls belonging to 7 different non-governmental organisations- Spearheaded SEWA Youth Club with the objective of counselling young girls and their parents to invest in education and employment opportunities. - Ensured sustained coverage of SEWA's flagship programs in TV, print, and web media through media briefings, events, report launches etc- Setup SEWA's social media presence. - Trained SEWA staff on media management, and successful communication outreach in areas of New Delhi, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Katihar
