Staff Content Services Engineer
CurrentEnabling and supporting Productions, Studios and Content Creators across Music, Podcasts, Film and TV, to deliver the highest quality of work in Dolby Atmos, both Theatrically, and to the Home.The role, part of Dolby’s Content Service Group, covers a diverse area ranging from engineering support services such as studio design and commissioning, audio B-chain calibration, content mastering and screening support services, to technical training and support for mixers, artist, labels, production companies, content studios, and the wider audio production industry regarding Dolby formats and technologies. In order to deliver high quality support and engineering services to Dolby’s incredibly varied customer base, my role requires a comprehensive knowledge of the availability, capability, and interoperability of the technologies, hardware, software, codecs and formats available within the audio industry, distributed via both streaming, and traditional storage media.Highlights over the past couple of years have included:- Working with the core UK Music team to design, commission and enable over 100 Dolby Atmos music studios in the UK since June 2021; a rate of approximately one every three days.- Taking part in technical demonstrations and workshops with leading DSPs, industry bodies, and production teams to better understand Dolby Atmos, and how it can fit into their production and distribution pipelines.- Assisting with the creation of the Dolby Atmos training curriculum, now found at learning.dolby.com.- Creation and distribution of CSG’s Technical Blog and theatrical post production community newsletter, with the aim of documenting and disseminating best practice information to the industry.
