About Richard Kendall
Richard moved to WA in March 2012. After a 7½ year legal career, he joined Murdoch University in January 2013 as Senior Contract Manager in the commercial leasing team, progressing to the role of Property Portfolio Manager in September 2014. Building on his legal career, Richard is responsible for the management of the University’s high-risk and high-value commercial leasing portfolio including commercial office space, retail, research tenants and educational partners as well as the University’s student and retirement villages. Whilst a solicitor, specialising in real estate law, Richard obtained wide experience in commercial property matters including portfolio management, contractual agreements, landlord and tenant, acquisitions and disposals, minor disputes and commercial remortgage work. Richard acted for a variety of schools, universities, commercial landlords, investors, superannuation funds, public sector clients, arts and cultural organisations, charities and corporate occupiers. His principal clients included Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Limited (formerly Royal Liver Assurance Limited) and the Diocese of Liverpool, whom he assisted with the management of their substantial property portfolios.Specialities: Commercial property, public sector property, higher education estates, science parks, estate management and ecclesiastical property.
