Locates any permits and requirements nessary for the location shoot. Meets with Local owners of property to ensure any and all requests/requirements are discussed by both parties before scout to reduce issues that may halt location usage. . Scouts locations using various equipment (cameras, video cams, phones, tablets etc. ) to show current images/video to required personnel for approval. Contact local venues ( Hotels, Catering, Porta Potties, Mohos, and possible local P.A.s to work on project).

Based On Production Needs

- Reads material submitted (Script, Desired Commercial Shoot) and look over any visual material given to get an idea of the location and view of the camera/s.-Meets with Producers, Director, and Cinematographer, to get the desired design of the shoot and establish a rapport to see if all parties are on the same focus of direction for upcoming production. - Submits estimates of costs for equipment (Cameras, Lenses, etc) as well as costs for self and required crew- Once approved on production, begins organizing required equipment needed for daily schedule.

Pre-production- Breaks down an initial script for background needed characters and discusses with above line production of any specifics needed to enhance the scenes and increase the believability of scenes.- Negotiates terms of financial gain and work conditions with producers for possible staff, actors, and self.- Meets with Specific Department heads of production to gain better insight of required actors - Hires staff based on requirements of production.- Begins searching for personnel based on location and Union Requirements.- Holds Casting Call for background actors to increase options of possible matches for desired scenes.- Holds Secondary Auditions for actors receiving single lines, videotapes and submits to Directors for final selection.- Begins cataloging possible actors based on requirements for upcoming scenesFilming.Production-Oversees day to day operations of Background Actors based on requirements of filming operations.- Contacts and informs requested actors of upcoming scenes to ensure personnel arrive and are ready to perform.- Oversees secondary measure when actors cannot meet required shoot days to include immediate replacement should production need specific background for the scene.- Monitors daily actor incheck and completion of shoot to ensure correct payment of background personnel and BG Casting Staff.Post Production- Completes all required operations to include final compensations for actors, staff, and self.
