In this role I hold joint responsibility for the IT service at Flintshire County Council, with my focus being largely on the 'Information' aspect. Key disciplines within my service include IT Business Relationship Management, Service Desk, Information Governance, Cyber Security, Systems Development, Web, Training, SIMS support for our schools and Records Management. I lead on the Information & Data Management Strategy and associated theme within the Council's Digital Strategy, working towards a shift to a data-driven decision making organisation.

Providing leadership, direction and management to the IT Business Relationship team. My team covers the functions of relationship management, training and the service desk. I'm here to work on a strategic level with managers and chief officers across the organisation, aligning their business plans with IT. Through building valued relationships I am able to work with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop technology solutions.I play a key role in the tendering and procurement of IT systems by service managers, providing project management capacity, support and guidance throughout before transitioning onto contract management with suppliers.Through a combination of my understanding of enterprise IT and business knowledge I am able to be a trusted advisor to my colleagues and a strong influencer on technology projects whilst effectively communicating the benefits to officers or elected officials. My other principal accountabilities include application management for our ITSM system, performance management, business analysis, service level management, incident management, problem management, change management, training design/delivery, ITIL compliant process implementation, promotion of technology and marketing of the IT service.

I provided management of the IT Business Partnership function within the Council's corporate IT service.My primary focus was on working with managers and chief officers across the organisation, aligning their business plans with IT. My team acted as the interface between our technical teams and the service areas within the organisation. Through building valued relationships I was able to work with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop technology solutions.My other principal accountabilities included application management for our ITSM system, performance management, project management, business analysis, service level management, change management, ITIL compliant process implementation, promotion of technology, marketing of the IT service, and managing the resolution any escalated service issues.

I provided management of the ICT Service Management and Training functions within the Council's corporate ICT service.My primary focus was on providing a focal point for our 3000 customers, acting as the interface between our technical teams and the service areas within the organisation. Building and maintaining relationships with service managers whilst working with them to identify effective and cost efficient IT solutions to address their business requirements was key to my role.I was able to provide leadership and direction for the long standing IT training service, driving modernisation of our facilities and training portfolio.My other principal accountabilities included project management, performance reporting, marketing & communication, ITIL implementation and process improvement.

My role of ICT Service and Performance Manager was centred on providing an ICT Service Management function within the organisation and management of a Business Analyst. Responsibilities included management of customer relationships, service performance reporting, business process mapping and project management.

My role as ICT Business Analyst was to work with business services in delivering flexible and modern business systems and solutions. Developing relationships with these services, identifying their needs and ensuring that they understand how ICT can help in meeting them was key. Business process analysis and project management were important functions of the role.

My role within the IT division at Knowsley Metropolitan Council was to provide programme office support for the Council's eGovernment agenda. Business process analysis and minor project management were the other key functions along with involvement in the Enterprise Workflow national eGovernment project that was based from here.
