I have a technical electrical engineering background having completed a five year electrical maintenance engineering apprenticeship with GKN 1973-1978 gaining an HNC in electrical and electronic engineering along the way. I then went on to work as a maintenance electrician at Hardy Spicer Erdington. I moved on from there to run my own business in the garden machinery industry for five years. Having decided I wanted to expand my horizons I then moved on to a series of sales jobs in the construction industry and electrical wholesale industry for such groups as P&O, London International and How Group ending up as Area Sales Manager for Monks and Crane responsible for over 300 key wholesale accounts throughout the uk.I left Monks and Crane and set up AMS in 1995 having identified a growth market for servicing the insurance industries domestic reinstatement requirements working as an approved contractor in the domestic claims sector. AMS became a limited company in 2003 and I am currently a director there. AMS Ltd is a building maintenance company set up to provide reinstatement facilities to the insurance industry. The company has been trading for 10 years as a limited company and 8 years previously. AMS is able to offer a true 7 day a week all year round property maintenance and repair service covering most trades i.e. roofing, plumbing, locks, boarding, carpentry, electrical, drains, central heating, flooring, general building, painting and decorating. We also offer an estimating service and digital camera imaging. These facilities are available to cover all Birmingham, Walsall and Coventry postcodes. All our workforce are suitably qualified and registered with the relevant authoritative bodies. AMS carries £5,000,000 public liability insurance and is CHAS registered.
