I was head-hunted by Horntvedt Associates, a public relations company specialising in the property industry where my clients included Tarmac Properties, Healey & Baker, St Modwen and Chelsea Harbour.

I moved to property journalism starting as a reporter then News Editor within 18 months and then City Editor. During my time at Estates Times I reported on domestic and international markets including the US, Hong Kong and US real estate markets and wrote articles for the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph and the CBI magazine. As City Editor I gained detailed knowledge of the quoted property companies and analysis of the sector.

Joined King & Co as a trainee chartered surveyor where I worked in the Valuation Department travelling the country assisting in the valuation of a large range of mainly retail and industrial buildings but also an oil rig fabrication site near Middlesborough. During my time at King & Co I qualified as a chartered surveyor and undertook lease renewal and rent review negotiations including a night club in Catford that was frequented by South London gangsters!
