My mission is to move an increasing number of businesses beyond traditional CSR to become the primary agents for delivering both shareholder and societal value. By identifying opportunities for social impact along the supply chain, I look for where companies, NGO’s, donors, and governments can leverage their core competencies to address stakeholder needs, build partnerships, and develop business models that secure lasting impact around shared interests. My professional career integrates experience in company operations, management consulting, and philanthropy at industry-leading organizations such as Kraft Foods, McKinsey, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This allows me to more effectively design and execute strategies in partnership with the social, private, and public sectors that are impactful, cost effective and operationally feasible. I have helped over 50 companies such as Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nestle, Cargill, Starbucks, Mars, and Walmart rethink how to invest in their supply chains for increased profitability, reduced risk, and greater social impact. These partnerships have empowered over 2 million rural poor to lift themselves out of poverty and have been recognized for their sustainable and scalable impact: the 2015 OECD DAC prize “for taking innovation in development to scale” and the 2016 P3 Impact award “in recognition of the world’s most impactful public-private partnerships”.As the Managing Director of Rogers MacJohn, my aim is to leverage my experience and network to catalyze more inclusive business and shared value models across a range of industries. International development is most effective when business-driven, government-enabled, NGO-coached, and only donor catalyzed. Learn more at www.rogersmacjohn.com.
