Richard is one of Australia's most acclaimed investigative journalists and narrative podcast creators. After 23 years at The Melbourne Age and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers, he has launched Southern Ocean Media with the ambition of becoming the southern hemisphere's best independent studio for investigative/narrative podcasts for a global audience. Richard created and hosted three of Australia's most revered podcast series while at The Age and SMH, Phoebe's Fall, Wrong Skin and The Last Voyage of the Pong Su. He leaves the newspapers with one final podcast called "The Confession" coming out soon. Southern Ocean Media already has two narrative series in development and will be releasing two weekly "chat" podcasts in the near future. Stay tuned for announcements. A former Australian Journalist of the Year winner and multiple Walkley Award winner, Richard is looking to partner with the right platforms and companies to showcase Southern Ocean Media's unique audio content. This content will be ripe for adaptation for screen. Richard is also available for consulting work on a project to project basis.
