Bane Care Management LLC, operates 12 skilled nursing facilities and two assisted living facilities in Massachusetts. The organization currently comprises 1250 beds, and manages over 1200 employees. Mr. Bane is also currently engaged in a project in senior care in China. Professionally, Mr. Bane currently serves as Past Chairman of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, the state’s largest professional provider group, and now chairs that organization’s Legislative Committee. He lectures frequently on many aspects of senior services and post acute care and is considered one of New England’s senior care industry leaders. Currently he leads many of the regional efforts to help determine the role of skilled and post acute care in accountable care organizations (ACO’s). Mr. Bane serves as a director of Eastern Bankshares (NASDAQ:EBC), where he chairs the Bank’s Audit Committee. In addition, he serves as a member of the Bank’s Compensation, Strategic Advisory and Risk Management Committees.Mr. Bane has served as a long time trustee of North Shore Medical Center (Partners Healthcare), as well as a ten-year term as a trustee at Salem State (MA) University, the last three years of which he served as Board Chair. He is a past winner of the Community Leadership Award given by the ADL, “Person of the Year” by Marblehead (MA) Chamber of Commerce, and the prestigious “Excellence in Leadership” Award from the Jewish Federation of the North Shore. In 2011, Mr. Bane received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Salem State University. Mr. Bane is a graduate of Dartmouth College (A.B., Economics, summa cum laude) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A. with Distinction).
